Ross Starner, 75, Dies in Torrington, Fri.
Ross Elmer Starner, 75, a resident of the Moore Springs Community for many years, died unexpectedly Friday at his home one mile west of Torrington. Funeral services were held from the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington Monday afternoon.
Mr. Starner came to the Moore Springs Community in 1910 and took up a homestead. He and Mrs. Starner lived on the homestead until 1959 when they retired and moved to Torrington.
Mr. Starner and Mrs. Starner were married in Lusk, September 3, 1922 and were the parents of one daughter and a son.
Pallbearers were Howard Eikenberry, Temple Barnette, Ed Hoy, Max Robinette, Carl Brown, Jr., Cecil Pugsley. Katheryne Elwood sang "City Foursquare" and "In The Garden." Fern Wilburn was organist. The Rev. Howard Osborne of the United Presbyterian Church of Torrington officiated. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery at Torrington. I.O.O.F. services were conducted at the grave.
Besides his widow, survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Harris W. Greene of Jay Em; one stepson, Charles McEvony of Laurel, Mont.; one sister, Mrs. Pearl Krumling of Anaheim, Calif. His parents, three brothers and two sisters died previously.
