"Tiny" Verva Sylvania Crofutt

"Tiny" Verva Sylvania Crofutt, age 77, passed away Jan. 4, 2007 at the Douglas Care Center in Douglas. Funeral services were held Jan. 8, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, with Pastor Tom Strock officiating. Interment followed at the Lusk Cemetery.

She was born in Lusk on May 24, 1929, to Fred A. and Sylvania P. (Howell) Bryant. She was raised on the Bryant Ranch near Hat Creek.

She married Lawrence I. Crofutt on June 23, 1944. They had been married for 49 years when he passed away in May 1999.

Tiny held many jobs through the years, with Coast to Coast and Safeway being her primary occupations. After she retired from Safeway, she and Lawrence became "snowbirds" for several years in Wickenburg, Ariz. Tiny worked at the Rancho De los Caballeros where she made many friends. After Lawrence's death Tiny remained in Lusk until May 2005 when she was admitted to the Douglas Care Center where she remained until her death.

Survivors include her sons, Lawrence "Dave" Crofutt and his wife Barbara of Lusk, and Charles Crofutt of Casper; granddaughters, Debbie Walker and husband Rick of Casper and Stephanie McTee and husband Buck of Kuna, Idaho; grandsons, Keith Crofutt and wife Heather of Chadron, Neb., and Tom Crofutt and wife Susan of Rock Springs; and four great-grandchildren. One brother, Howell Fagan "Burr" Bryant and his wife Winifred of Lusk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, her parents, sisters Iris Cline and Evelyn (Tyke) Guibault, brother George and John Bryant.

The family requests memorials may be made to the donor's choice in Tiny's name.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
