Last Rites for Mrs. Edna Soper
Funeral services were held December 5, for Mrs. Edna Soper who died at the Crestview Manor rest home in Chadron on December 3 after a lingering illness at the age of 86.
The services were held from the Harrison Methodist Church with the Rev. J. Lee Gorman, Pastor, officiating. Mrs. Martin Koch was organist accompanying Mrs. Gorman and Mrs. Ted King who sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Life's Railway to Heaven." Pallbearers were Eldon Fox, Lawrence Bannon, Bill Haworth, John Engebretsen, Carl Engebretsen and Herman Petersen. Interment was in the Harrison Cemetery.
Edna. L. Soper, daughter of Hiram and Laura Pickett, was born June 13, 1881, at Woodford, Wis. She was a member of the Methodist Church. On August 27, 1899 she was married to Cecil James Soper at Woodford, and they had seven children. The family lived at Woodford and Argyle, Wis. until 1927, moving then to Sioux County to farm east of Harrison until 1942. They moved to Andrews to live until the death of Mr. Soper in 1955. One infant son and one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Wells died previously.
Surviving are four daughters.
