Norma Ione Shillenn
Norma Ione Shillenn died May 20, 1992, at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin, Wyo. She was born March 22, 1923, in Lusk, Wyo., the daughter of Nick and Edith Kaan.
She graduated from Niobrara County High School in 1940 and went on to graduate from the Mercy Hospital Nurses' Training Program in Denver, Colo., in 1944.
On Jan. 12, 1944, she married James H. Shillenn of Clearfield, Penn. The couple moved back to Lusk where she was a nurse at the Spencer Hospital until the hospital closed and went on to be a nurse at the Tri-County Headstart Program for Niobrara, Platte and Goshen counties.
She is survived by her husband, James H. Shillenn of Lusk; her sons, James Kaan Shillenn and family of Douglas and Jeffrey William Shillenn of Sheridan; her daughter Camille A. Shillenn of Casper; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her mother, Edith Kaan of Lusk; sisters Helen Redding of Lusk, Myrna Wormley of Sun City, Ariz., Lita Fagan of Casper and Donna Jetson of Great Falls, Mont.
Shillenn was preceded in death by her father, Nick Kaan, her sister, Phyllis Kuhn and her brother, Nicholas Kaan Jr.
She has been interred in the Lusk Cemetery.
