Myra Mae Sheaman
Myra Sheaman dies Saturday
Many were saddened Saturday when they learned of the unexpected death of Mrs. Fred (Myra) Sheaman, 81, at the Natrona County Hospital in Casper earlier that day. Mrs. Sheaman had undergone major surgery earlier in the week, but was recuperating nicely when death came quietly.
Myra, as she was known to most, was always there when someone needed her. It was nothing for her to be one of the most faithful supporters at the basketball or volleyball games.
Mrs. Sheaman was very active in community work. She belonged to the Lance Creek and Manville churches, missionary ladies society and Electa Club of the Mariposa Chapter of Eastern Star. While living in Lance Creek she was clerk at the post office.
Myra Whannel was married to Charles Fred Sheaman on March 14, 1916, at Granada, Minn., in the first triple wedding to be performed in that state. Fred homesteaded in the Mule Creek area in 1918 and the couple moved there in 1919. The couple came to Lance Creek in 1920, going back to the homestead again and then to Manville. About 1936, the couple and their children, Alice and Paul, came back to Lance Creek where they resided until October, 1964, when they moved to their present home in Manville. Mr. Sheaman was an employee of the Marathon (Ohio) Oil Company during the time they lived in Lance Creek
She was born Myra Mae Whannel on January 1897, at Gladbrook, Iowa, the daughter of William J. and Sarah Reid Whannel. She grew to young womanhood around Traer, Iowa.

Funeral service was being held at Peet Chapel this Wednesday afternoon at 2:00. Officiating was Pastor Chad Bayne.
