Funeral service for Mrs. Bailey in Crawford

Funeral service was held at the Church of the Nazarene in Crawford August 26 at 10:00 a.m. for Katherine Bailey, 76, who died at Crest View Manor in Chadron on August 22.

The Rev. Roger Fromm of Chadron officiated at the service, and burial was at the Harrison cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Raben, Vern Holtz, Ed Flaherty, Jim Reece, Hans Rensvald and Jack Monasmith.

Katherine Magdalena Einspahr Bailey was born December 20, 1898 to Hans and Caroline Einspahr in Adams County, Neb., and was reared on a farm near Holstein. She married Frank Bailey February 24, 1927, in Mary, Neb., and shortly after the marriage they moved to Harrison.

The couple had one child, Caroline. After Caroline's death in 1944, Mr. and Mrs. Bailey took her baby daughter to raise as their own. Mr. Bailey died in 1954, and Mrs. Bailey lived in Harrison until January of 1961 when she moved to Crawford.

She joined the Church of the Nazarene in May of 1966. After being ill for some time Mrs. Bailey went to live at Crest View Manor at Chadron in 1970.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Alma De Gunia; four great-grandsons, Ernest Jr., William, Darrold and Troy De Gunia; son-in-law Lewis Wilson, all of Crawford, four sisters, Clara Buckley, Lusk, Wyo., Mabel White, Eudora, Kan., Lydia Schmidt and Amelia Swartz, both of Minden, Neb.; two brothers, Oscar Einspahr, Arcadia, Neb.; and Lawrence Einspahr, Lusk, Wyo.

Her husband, her daughter, Caroline Wilson; two brothers and one sister died previously.
