Last Rites for Harry Serres Sr.

Last rites for Harry Jacob Serres Sr., who died May 2, were held May 6 from the Harrison Catholic Church with the Rev. Father John Dennett officiating. Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery.

Mr. Serres was the son of Stephen and Mary Marking Serres, born November 6, 1905, in Sioux County and lived all his life at the home ranch except for a few years when he worked on neighboring ranches and at Dubois, Wyo.

He was married May 24, 1930, to Louise Klein of Hastings, Nebr. He served 20 years as a member of the District No. 9 school board and for 38 years was a member of the election board of the Hat Creek precinct. He also served a number of years on the County Fair Board in numerous capacities.

He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Darrell (Marjorie Charlotte) Anderson; one son, Harry Jr.; two sisters, Edith Ruffing of Crawford and Irene Merlor of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and one brother, Andrew of Crawford.
