Last Rites Held for Lawrence Semroska At Crawford Thursday
Funeral services for Lawrence Richard Semroska who died November 26 at Brighton, Colo., were held from St. John's Catholic Church in Crawford at 9:30 a.m. last Thursday. Interment was in the Montrose Cemetery. Father John Madson officiated and Requiem High Mass was sung by the Harrison choir.
Pallbearers were Vincent Wasserburger, Dick Geiser, Jack Geiser, Bob Geiser, Bill O'Connell, and Norbert Wasserburger. Honorary pallbearers were Henry Freed, Hubert Wasserburger, Ray Turnbull, George Wasserburger, John Geiser, and Emil Vyzourek.
Mr. Semroska's death was caused by strangulation from food which had passed into his lungs the day before he was taken to the Brighten Hospital. He had been on a trip to visit relatives. He was 34 years of age born July 27, 1927 at Montrose. He graduated in 1946 from the Chadron Prep School and had previously attended Assumption Academy for two years. Upon graduation he managed his mother's ranch after the death of his father in December 1946.
On January 3, 1957 he married Agnes I. Inman of Ardmore at the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of San Antonio, Tex. He was employed at the Levi Richardson ranch seven miles east of Crawford until 1959 when he became engaged in farming on the Henry Freed farm five miles east of Chadron where he was until the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes, and two daughters, Milesa Mae, 3 1/2, and Brenda Lee, 2; his mother, Barbara Semroska, Chadron; five brothers, Franklin of Buffalo, Wyo., Donald of Fort Lupton, Colo., whom he was visiting at the time of his death, Ray of Montrose, Edward of Chadron, and Joe of Bassett; four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Fox of Harrison, Mrs. Irene Rex of Rapid City, Mrs. Leona Robbins of Chadron, and Mrs. Conrad Huerta of Martin, S. Dak.
