Ona Malinda Seifert

Funeral for Mrs. Seifert Thursday

Funeral mass for Mrs. Ona Malinda Seifert, 82, was held from St. Leo's Catholic Church last Thursday at 10 a.m. She died February 19 at the Ivy Manor Nursing Home in Aurora, Colo. Rosary was held at the Peet Chapel in Lusk last Wednesday evening.

Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chuck Vaughan, Menno Kaan, C.W. Marvin, Clifford Parmely, Glenn Parmely and Otto Krekeler.

Mrs. Seifert was born in Freedom, Ind., March 7, 1885. On September 19, 1904, she was married to Joseph Clay Seifert at Elnora, Ind. In 1915 Mr. and Mrs. Seifert moved to Harrison, Nebr. From Harrison they moved to Lusk where Mr. Seifert was employed as a butcher for the Cordell Brothers. He drove a truck for several years and then he and Mrs. Seifert purchased and managed their own apartment house.

After Mr. Seifert died January 24, 1954, Mrs. Seifert moved to Denver, where she would be closer to her children.

Survivors are two sons, Joseph H. Seifert, Denver, and James E. Seifert, Aurora; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Kelly, Aurora and Mrs. Virginia Iskra, Fremont, Calif.; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mrs. Olie Dawson and many nieces and nephews in Indiana and Illinois.

Her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Clark, died previously.

Out-of-town relatives here for the funeral were Mrs. and Mrs. Leo Kelley, Steve and Charles and James E. Seifert of Aurora, Colo.; Mrs. Virginia Iskra, Fremont, Calif.; Mrs. Tom Seifert, Mrs. Tillie Lewis, Mrs. Bertha Blunket and Mrs. Grace Dunlap of Harrison, Nebr.; Mrs. and Mrs. Oliver Dunlap, Scottsbluff, Nebr.; Rosalie Bates, Joseph Clark; Edith Stuckey, Thelma Goodman, Mrs. Opal Pompel, Viola Rider Smith and Joseph H. Seifert all of Denver.
