Clarence Schroeder, Former Resident Here Dies Sunday

Clarence Schroeder, 69, former resident of Lusk died Saturday in the John Burns Hospital in Belle Fourche, So. Dak. of a stroke.

Rosary services were held at the Peet Chapel Tuesday evening and Funeral services were held from St. Leo's Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Cornelius O'Connor officiating Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Music was by the church choir. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: James Berry, Carl Lund, Harry Lorenzen, L.T. Bonner, Emerson Bonner and Roy Johnson.

Clarence Schroeder was born August 17, 1894 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Schroeder. Most of his life was spent in the hotel business.

While living in Lusk he operated the Henry Hotel which is now the Spencer Hospital. He was also in the hotel business in Torrington, Douglas and Kimball, Neb. In 1927 he and Miss Clara Johnson were married. He was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife; one brother, Fred Schroeder of Dubuque, Iowa; three sister-in-laws, Mrs. L.S. Berry of Newcastle, Mrs. Agnes Burge of Lusk and Mrs. Lillian Schippen of Blackduck, Minn. Two brother-in-laws, Oscar and Albert Johnson of Fosston, Minn.
