Julius F. Schley Dies Here Monday
Julius F. Schley, 79, died Monday at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services were being held this Wednesday at the Peet Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Otha B. Holcomb, pastor of the Lusk Baptist Church officiating. Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery.
Mrs. A.F. DeCastro and Mrs. Otha B. Holcomb sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Jesus Lover of My Soul." Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist.
Active pallbearers were Roy McLain, Floyd McLain, Roger Cowell, Anthon Hansen, Menno Kaan and Albert Ruffing. Honorary pallbearers were E.O. Kint, O.P. Harnagel, Gottfried Germann and Andy Owens.
Mr. Schley was born August 9, 1876 in Wisconsin and homesteaded in Wyoming in 1911. He and Josie M. Swaim were married in 1914 and were the parents on one daughter, Ruth Garnet, who died at the age of 16. Mr. and Mrs. Schley have made their home in Lusk since 1945. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lusk.
He is survived by his wife.
