Last Rites for Solomon Schimke
Funerals services for Solomon Simon Schimke, 55, were held from the Peet Chapel Friday with burial in the Lusk Cemetery. Mr. Schimke had died March 6.
The Rev. Hale Rhodes, Seventh Day Adventist minister from Shelton, Nebr., conducted the services, and Masonic rites were performed at the grave by Harmony Masonic Lodge of Lusk. Pallbearers were Emil Heib, John Erlewine, Avery Doeling, Otto Knittle, Clarence Mangus, and Harold Clair. Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist, and a quartet of Mrs. Robert Bramlet, Mrs. James Berry, Dr. Richard Collins and Gerald Bardo sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Abide With Me."
Mr. Schimke was born at Kulm, N. Dak., January 29, 1907. Until his marriage to Leah T. Hartman September 30, 1930 he resided with his parents on a farm near Heaton, N. Dak. After marriage he resided and conducted business in Bowdon, N. Dak., for 31 years. For a time he operated a garage and later a telephone exchange. While there he became the inventor of Tel-A-Larm Systems. It was in the interest of Tel-A-Larm that he and his wife moved to Lusk in August of 1961. He resided at the Ranger Hotel until his death.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Gurmen S. Schimke, Karthryn, N. Dak.; a daughter, Jacqueline J. Schimke, Lincoln, Nebr.; his parents, John and Selma Schimke, Lodi, Calif.; two sisters, Ruth Schimke, Doreis, Calif., and Esther Schimke, Graham, Wash.; five brothers, Emil Schimke, Fessenden, N. Dak., Eugen Schimke, Carrington, N. Dak., Ben Schimke, Lodi Calif., Harry Schimke, Pendleton, Ore., and Arthur Schimke, Lodi, Calif.

Tel-A-Larm Man Dies in Lusk Tuesday
Soloman S. Schimke, about 55, died in his sleep at The Ranger Hotel early Tuesday morning.
Mr. Schimke was the inventor of the Tel-A-Larm system and came to Lusk last September from Bowden, N. Dak.
Funeral services will be held from the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Friday. A Nebraska minister will officiate and Masonic rites will be held. Burial will be in the Lusk Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife and a daughter, Jacqueline who are residing in Lusk.
