Phoebe "Peg" Santistevan
Phoebe "Peg" Elda Santistevan died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 3, 1985, at Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas. She was 82.
Mrs. Santistevan was born April 22, 1903, at Osborne, Kan., the daughter of Henry and Susan Specht Powers. She was reared and educated in Osborne. She married Frank Gorsuch Aug. 17, 1922, at Osborne. After their marriage, they homesteaded in the Bill, Wyo., area. They lived there until moving to Douglas in 1938. She married Adelino Santistevan Aug. 20, 1942, at Harrison, Neb. She made her home in Douglas until the time of her death.
Mrs. Santistevan is survived by three sons, Lee Gorsuch of Douglas, James Santistevan of Lusk and Charles Santistevan of Casper; three sisters, Mary Keck of Gillette, Marjorie Deines and Joy Rothleutner, both of Douglas; 26 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, two brothers and six sisters.
A memorial has been established to the Arthritis Foundation.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Converse Funeral Chapel. Pastor Robert Norris officiated. Interment was in Douglas Park Cemetery. The Converse Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
