Edward "Ed" John Sanmann
Funeral for E.J. Sanmann Held in Lusk Thursday
Funeral services for E.J. Sanmann, 69, of Lost Springs who died September 11, were held from the Peet Mortuary last Thursday. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.
Pastor Richard Korns of Manville and Missionary Delbert Dick of Wheatland officiated.
Mrs. Richard Korns, organist, accompanied Mrs. Delbert Dick as she sang "Rock of Ages" and "Savior More than Life To Me."
Casket bearers were Dan Dieleman, Ted Pennington, Henry Amend, Bill Nuttall, Wilbur Wright, and Larry Eddy. Honorary bearers were Harry Manning, Leonard Gilbert, Charlie Reese, Alfred Edison, Wilmer Baars, Fred Meinzer, Clarence Mason and Kenneth Wright.
Edward John Sanmann, better known as Ed, was born June 29, 1898 in Lincoln, Ill., son of John D. Sanmann and Johannah Krause who moved to York, Nebr., with their family in 1910. He died in Memorial Hospital in North Platte, Nebr.
He was baptised in the Lutheran faith in infancy. He became a member of the First United Lutheran Church in York, Nebr., and remained a faithful member until moving to Wyoming in June 1946, where he was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Sunday School of Cheyenne, Wyo.
On November 8, 1948 he moved to Lost Springs where he worked in the general store and assisting in the Post Office.
Ed was a faithful and contributing member of the American Sunday School Union and Bible Class at Shawnee.
On September 13, 1924 he was married to Lauretta Mae Rogers of Bloomington, Nebr.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Sanmann, an infant daughter Virginia Arlene, a brother William Sanmann, sister Mrs. Freda Wellman, and Joan Barretta niece died previously.
Survivors are his widow, Mae; daughter, Mrs. Louise Laher, three grandsons, Ronnie, Russell and Gregory; three granddaughters, Linda, Brenda and Susan; one brother Richard Sanmann of York, Nebr.; three sisters, Mrs. Edith Barrett and Miss Minnie Sanmann both of York, Mrs. Marie Mann of Lincoln, Nebr.; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends from a distance attending funeral services were, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Mann, Mr. Don Mann and Mrs. Beverly Carey all of Lincoln, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sanmann, Mr. Wallace Sanmann, Mrs. Edith Barrett, Miss Minnie Sanmann and Mr. Allen Berrett all of York; Mr. and Mrs. DeWaybe Brouillette, McCool, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore DeRiese, Bloomington, Nebr.; Mrs. Hazel Rogers, Franklin, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Elden Watson, Inavale, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rogers, Stapleton, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Beach, Edmond, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Koelmel and daughters, Cody, Wyo. and Mr. Guy McHarry, Cheyenne, Wyo.
