Jacob W. Salak Dies Suddenly At Home Early Sunday Morning; Last Rites and Interment Are Wednesday
Jacob W. Salak, well-known rancher of the Keeline community, succumbed to a stroke at about 2:00 o'clock Sunday morning, January 23rd at the family home. Prior to his demise he had awakened Mrs. Salak and complained of a terrific pain in his head, and she had arisen from bed to give him a medication to relieve the pain and summon the aid of neighbors. Due to the snow-packed roads no one was able to reach the Salak home before Mr. Salak had passed away.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 26th, at the chapel of the Peet Mortuary with Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of St. Paul's Evangelical Church of Lusk, officiating. Mesdames Ab DeCastro and Emerson Bonner sang "Abide With Me," and "Rock of Ages," during the services with Mrs. J.P. Watson providing organ accompaniment.
Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery with Marvin Skillings, Fred Amend, Leo Heins, Roy Elder, James Ringer and Wilber Wright serving as casketbearers.
Jacob W. Salak was born July 9, 1872 in Moravia. He came to the United States as a small child with his parents, who settled at Schuyler, Nebraska in 1878.
He came to Wyoming in 1909, and homesteaded near Keeline. On December 15th, 1915, he was united in marriage to Emma Bopp. The couple continued to make their home on his homestead and through the years have successfully engaged in the livestock business and farming. The deceased, always willing to assist his neighbors in whatever way he could, was held in high esteem by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Salak of Keeline, Wyo.; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Michaelson, Schuyler, Nebr., and Mrs. Fred Vath, Sidney, Nebr.; three brothers, Anton Salak, Lincoln, Nebr., John Salak of Minnesota and Rudolph Salak, Schuyler, Nebr.

Jacob W. Salak Dies in Keeline Ranch Home Sun.
Jacob W. Salak, 72, a resident of the Keeline community for 45 years, died suddenly of apoplexy at his ranch home about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 23.
Funeral services were being held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Peet Chapel, with Rev. F. C. Doctor officiating. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Emerson Bonner sang "Abide With Me" and "Rock of Ages" accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Watson, organist.
Casket-bearers were: Marvin Skilling, Henry Amend, Wilbur Wright, Leo Hein, Roy Elder and James Ringer. Interment was in the Lusk cemetery with the Peet Mortuary in charge.
Jacob W. Salak was born in Moravia July 9, 1872 and came to the United States with his parents in 1878. The family settled at Schuyler, Neb. In 1909 he moved to the present ranch home southwest of Keeline.
On December 5, 1915, he married Mrs. Emma Bopp, a resident of that vicinity.
Surviving are his wife, two sisters: Mrs. Anna Michaelson of Schuyler and Mrs. Fred Vath of Sidney, Neb.; two brothers: Anton of Lincoln, Neb., and Rudolph of Schuyler.
