Fred L. Robison, 82, Dies May 1
Fred L. Robison, 82, long time Niobrara County resident, died the evening of May 1 at the Weston County Memorial Hospital in Newcastle.
Funeral services were held May 4 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Methodist Church in Newcastle, with the Rev. Robert Morgan officiating. Mrs. David Crum was soloist, with Mrs. D. K. Wiltse as organist. Pall bearers were Karl Thoeming, Aaron Frye, Gayle Weaver, James Kirkpatrick, Gerald Darrow and Lloyd Darrow. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery at Newcastle, with arrangements made by the McColley Funeral Home.
Fred Leslie Robison was born Aug. 27, 1882 in Dade County, Mo. At the age of three, he traveled with his parents by covered wagon to Rapid City. In 1900 he homesteaded on the Cheyenne River. Nov. 24, 1915 he and Cora Mae Cook were married and they lived on the homestead until her death, at which time he continued to reside there with his son James Robison.
Mr. Robison is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Orletha Cork of Lusk, Mrs. Beryl Darrow of Newcastle; Mrs. C. G. Peggy Whitman of Newcastle; one son, James F. Robison of Niobrara County; one sister, Ruth Beebe of Edgemont; two brothers Frank Robison of Edgemont, and Bill Robison of San Angelo, Texas; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Robison and one step-daughter, Evelyn Morrison, died previously.
