Memorial services for Wilmer C. H. Baars, 77, of Torrington were held Saturday, October 11, 1986 at Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk. Rev. Delbert Dick of the Wheatland American Missionary Fellowship officiated with burial following in the Lusk Cemetery.

Wilmer Christian Baars died Wednesday, Oct, 8, 1986 at the Goshen County Nursing Home in Torrington. He was born Aug. 20, 1909 in Reliance, S.D. and came to Wyoming in 1912, living on the family homestead. He attended country school and graduated from Lusk High in 1929 where he played football.

On Oct. 21, 1936, he married Twinkle Boyles in Harrison, NE. They lived in the Lusk area until 1945 when they moved southwest of Keeline where they ranched and farmed until April 1976. At that time they retired and moved to Torrington.

Baars, who enjoyed young people, drove a school bus for many years. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Torrington and the American Fellowship of Lost Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Verna Humphrey. Survivors include his widow of Torrington; one son, Dewey Baars of Wheatland; one daughter, Dorothy Baars of Denver, Co.; three granddaughters; one sister, Minnie Butler of Lusk; and one brother, Harry Baars of Lusk.

Memorials to the First United Church of Christ in Torrington or the American Missionary Fellowship of Wheatland would be appreciated by the family.
