Idella Rhay dies Friday; service held here Sunday
Funeral services for Idella Naylor Rhay who died Dec. 19 in Niobrara Memorial Hospital were held at the Peet Chapel Sunday at 2:00 with the Rev. Frank Bozart officiating. Mrs. Edna DeCastro organist accompanied Tim Johnson as he sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden." Honorary bearers were Henry Wasserburger Jr., John Miller, Joe Klemke, C. M. Marvin, Henry Wasserburger Sr., Frank Christian, Charles Vaughan, Paul McDaniel, Charles Canfield, J. P. Watson, James Pfister and Ron Fowler. Following the service the body was taken to Boulder, Colo. for cremation.
Memorials have been established to the Nursing Home and Senior Center.
Idella Naylor Rhay was born August 1, 1899 in Russell County, Kan., the daughter of David M. and Bessie Owen Naylor. As a child she was baptized in the Methodist Church and attended school in Kansas where she grew up. She moved to Mitchell, Neb. in 1924 and to Wyoming in 1927. March 7, 1933 she married Lloyd O. Rhay at Hot Springs, S.D. They lived on various ranches in this area until 1936 when they moved to their home ranch 44 miles north of Lusk. She spent much time with the pets and horses she loved. Mrs. Rhay is survived by her widower Lloyd Rhay; two brothers, H. T. Naylor. Boise, Idaho and C. R. Naylor, San Francisco, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
