Charles L. Gautschi
Charles L. Gautschi, a native of Lusk, died Jan. 19, 1998 in New York City, after a long illness.
He was born in Lusk, Wy. on Feb. 29, 1940, the son of Harold and Mae Gautschi. After graduating from Niobrara County High School in 1958, he attended Harvard University in Boston, Mass., graduating from there in 1962. He then entered the Naval Officers Candidate School in Newport, R.I. and served five and one-half years in the service.
He attended Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania for his Master's Degree in economics. He entered the business world in New York City, where he worked for several large corporations.
In 1982 he and a partner began a very successful consulting firm, Werner-Gautschi Associates. Along with his other achievements, Charles wrote many articles for business magazines and had addressed several conventions during his life in the business world.
As a music lover, Gautschi became a member of the Metropolitan Opera Guild and other organizations. He was also a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge in Lusk.
He is survived by his parents of Casper, one sister, Lorraine Goold of Fort Worth, TX; two nephews and one niece. Other survivors include two aunts, Thelma Carlisle of Lusk and Tillie Roley of Melbourne, FL; and one uncle, Julius Sparks of Bakersfield, CA.
Memorials may be made to the Niobrara County Historical Society.
