Mrs. Louise (Bowman) Rath, formerly of Lusk, died Jan. 8, 1984 in Escondido, Calif. She was 93 Dec. 2, 1983.
Louise Bowman came to Lusk in 1917 with her husband Claude L. Bowman. They homesteaded north of Lusk about 30 miles and he worked in the oil fields in Lance Creek.
Mr. Bowman died in 1926 and then for many years she owned and operated the X-L Cafe in Lusk. During WWII, she sold out and went to work for the defense effort in the shipping yards of California.
She later moved to Thermopolis where she met and married Charles M. Rath. She then moved to Denver where she lived until October of 1981, when she moved to Escondido to be near her son.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd E. Bowman, granddaughter Mrs. Linda Haack and two great-grandsons Mathew and David Klingle all of Salt Lake City, Utah.
