Graveside services were conducted for former Lance Creek rancher Roy Rankin on Monday, Jan. 14, 1991, at the Douglas Park Cemetery by Rev. Fred Seidler of the Columbus Baptist Church of Columbus, Mont.

Rankin died Jan. 9, 1991, at the Deaconess Medical Center in Billings, Mont. He was born Feb. 27, 1927, to William and Julia Rankin in Douglas where he was reared and educated. On June 6, 1948, he married Patricia June Rentzach and they were the parents of one daughter, Taffy.

The couple ranched north of Lance Creek until the early 1960's. The ranch is now owned by Clayton and Donna Dixon. The couple moved to the Douglas area and later to Billings, Mont. in 1978 upon retirement.

Mrs. Rankin died Oct. 4, 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Everett (Taffy) Good of Columbus, Mont., and one sister, Katherine Jenne of Casper; one granddaughter, Mendy Good and a nephew.
