Graveside services for former Lance Creek resident, Pat Rankin were conducted on Monday, Oct. 8, 1990 at the Douglas Park Cemetery by Rev. Fred Seidler of the Columbus Baptist Church, Columbus, Mont. Rankin died Oct. 4 at the Deaconess Medical Center in Billings, Mont.
She was born Jan. 31, 1929 to O. P. and Helen Rentzsch at Oshkosh, Neb., where she was reared and educated. She attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for two years, later moving to Douglas.
She married Leroy "Roy" Rankin on June 6, 1948, in Gillette and they ranched north of Lance Creek. The ranch is now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Dixon. Rankin was a member of the Sagebrush Pals Extension Club and was its president in 1951. The couple and their daughter, Taffy, left Lance Creek in the 1960's. They lived on another ranch north of Douglas, moving to Billings in 1978 upon retiring.
In addition to her husband, Roy, of 1034 Alkali Creek Road, Billings, Mont. 59106, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Everett (Taffy) Good of Columbus, Mont.; one sister, Arlene Thelander of Chappell, Neb. and one granddaughter, Mendy Good.
