Ferdinand Price Dies in Torrington
Ferdinand Thomas Price, 84, Torrington and formerly of the Prairie Center community, died in the Torrington hospital March 18.
Born in Franklin County, Va. July 20, 1886, he spent his early years there, and in 1910 moved to Centerville, S. D. In 1912, he came to Goshen County and homesteaded 40 miles north of Torrington in the Prairie Center community. The family moved to Torrington in 1948.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Torrington, Harmony Masonic Lodge of Lusk, and the Order of Eastern Star, Torrington.
On February 22, 1915, he was married to Mary Louise Stephenson at Centerville, and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard J. (Sadie) Coupe of Denver, two granddaughters Mrs. Judy Harrison, also of Denver and Mrs. Betty Brown of Fort Collins, Colo. Three sisters, a brother and a daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Torrington March 20 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Frederick Danforth officiating, and interment was in Valley View Cemetery. A memorial to the church has been established.
