Gerald Duane Predmore
Gerald Duane Predmore was born Sept. 14, 1932 at Brewster, Nebraska to Lovell and Eunice Worth Predmore. He joined the US Army in 1948 at the age of 15 -1/2 years old. Duane served in 13 countries during his 30 years in the service, seeing active duty in Berlin, Germany, France, Korea and Viet Nam.
After retiring from the service in 1978, Duane returned with his family in 1979 to Lusk, residing there until his death, Sept. 27, 1995 at the VA Hospital in Hot Springs, S.D. at the age of 63. Duane was preceded in death by his mother Eunice Hanse.
He leaves behind his wife, Lydia, of Lusk, one son, Gerald Predmore of Alaska; one daughter, Geraldine Henrikson; and one grandson David Henrikson, both of Casper. Two stepsons, Patrick Henrikson of Lusk and Daniel Henrikson of France; one stepdaughter and her husband Katherine and Keneth Laughner of Kentucky; and two step-grandsons, Jean Paul and Jean Pierre Laughner both of Kentucky. His father and step-mother, Lovell and Opal Predmore, both of Lusk; one brother Kent Predmore and five sisters, Delores Predmore, Maxine Hanse, Iva Gabel, Nita Knaus, and Mary Allan and a host of relatives and friends.
Military graveside service was held Tuesday October 31, 1995 at the Black Hill National Cemetery in Sturgis with Chaplain Simon Looking Elk (Ft. Meade VAMC) officiating. Military honors by Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard. A memorial service was held Sunday November 5, 1995 at the Lusk Elks Lodge by family and friends. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
