Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29 for the late Bert Peterson, from the chapel of the Peet Funeral Home, with Rev. Otha B Holcomb, pastor of the First Baptist Church of this city officiating.

During the services Mrs. Robert Bramlet and Mrs. Emerson Bonner sang "In the Garden" and "God Will Take of You." Mrs. Ab DeCastro served as organist.

Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery with Lafe Culver Sr., Carl Lund, Reg Bafford, R. I. Olinger, E. L. McKnight and Bryan Burge serving as casketbearers.

Bert Peterson, the son of Bert and Anna Marie Peterson was born September 17, 1893 in Turnava, Finland. He came to Rock Springs, Wyo. with his parents in the year 1903.

On April 15, 1916, he was united in marriage to Senja M. Witka, at Rock Springs, Wyo. To this union were born a son, Carl H. Peterson, and a daughter Helen Dorthea.

Mr. Peterson began his occupation with the Union Pacific Coal Company at the age of 16 in Rock Springs, Wyo. He remained with this company for 27 years. He became Safety Inspector; was transferred to Tono, Wash., where he continued until 1932; then to Superior, Wyo. until 1937. In that year, he began his work with the Stock Growers Mercantile Company, as manager of the hardware department, and continued with this company until 1953. He then was employed by Keith's Clothing Company until he became ill about a year ago.

In May of this year, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson returned to Washington to care for his aged mother. They returned to Wyoming in November, when he entered the Memorial hospital of Cheyenne for a time before making his residence in Lusk. He had been ill for more than a year. And his death came at 9:30 Sunday morning, December 26, 1954 at Memorial hospital, Lusk Wyo.

He was a charter member of the Masonic lodge at Tenino, Washington

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Helen Dorthea in the year 1922 at Centralia, Wash. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Senja and one son Carl H. Peterson, both of Lusk, Wyo.; his mother, Mrs. Anna M. Peterson, 84 yrs., of Centralia, Wash.; four brothers, Hans. J., Rock Springs, Wyo., Henry T., Centralia, Wash.; Benjamin I., Mosese Lake, Wash., and Charles J. of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters Mrs. Oscar Anderson, Anchorage, Alaska; and Mrs. Edwin Peterson, Seattle, Wash.; and three grandchildren, Karla Fern, Judy Kay and James Bert Peterson all of Lusk, Wyo.

Bert Peterson Dies Sunday; Funeral Held Here Wed.

Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Peet Chapel and Masonic graveside services followed at the Lusk cemetery for the late Bert Peterson, who died at 9:30 a.m. December 26 at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Peterson had been ill for more than a year and was a patient at Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne in November before moving to Lusk to make his residence.

Chapel services were officiated by the Rev. Otha B. Holcomb of the First Baptist Church of Lusk. Mrs. Idy Bramlet and Mrs. Emerson Bonner sang as a duet, "God Will Take Care of You" and "In the Garden." Mrs. Edna DeCastro provided the accompaniment and chapel organ music.

Masonic rites were conducted by Harmony Lodge at the graveside with the following as pallbearers: Lafe Culver, Carl Lund, R. C. Bafford, Ralph Olinger, Bryan Burge, and E. L. McKnight. Mr. Peterson was a charter member of the Masonic Lodge at Tenino, Wash.

May 1954, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson returned to Washington to care for his aged mother. In November, they returned to Wyoming to reside.

Survivors include: his wife, Senja Peterson, Lusk; son, Carl H., a business man of Lusk; his mother, Mrs. Anna Marie Peterson, 84 years of age and living in Centralia, Wash., brothers, Hans J. Peterson, Rock Springs, Henry T. Peterson, Centralia, Benjamin L. Peterson, Moses Lake, Wash., and Charles J. Peterson, Tacoma, Wash.; sisters, Mrs. Oscar Anderson, Anchorage, Alaska, and Mrs. Edwin Peterson, Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Karla Fern, Judy Kay, and James Bert Peterson all of Lusk.

Preceding Mr. Peterson in death were: a daughter, Helen Dorthea, his father, Bert Peterson, a brother, Andrew Peterson.
