Funeral services for Alice Marguerite Patton, 97, were held March 29, 2003 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Torrington with Pastor Rick Carroll officiating.

A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Alice Patton died March 26, 2003, at the Torrington Community Hospital.

She was born May 24, 1905 in Riverton, Neb., one of 19 children of Michael and Myrtle (Gustin) Brown.

When she was 16 years old, Alice married Clarence Patton on Nov. 9, 1921, in Smith Center, Kan.

They moved to Lusk, Wyo. where they resided until 1969, when they moved to Torrington, Wyo.

Alice lived a full and happy life, and was dedicated to her family. She moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in 1981, where she was living at the time of her death.

She worked for 13 years with her granddaughter at "Tina's Toddlers Daycare," where she became a grandmother to many.

She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by daughter, Barbara and her husband Larry Ferris of Torrington; a daughter-in-law Rachael Patton of Hanna, Wyo.; a sister Nerine Newsham of Lincoln, Neb.; two grandsons, Robert Patton of Hanna and Richard Patton of Lander; two granddaughters, Glenda Duff of Wheatland and Tina Stuck of Torrington; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, 17 brothers and sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Colyer Funeral Home of Torrington was in charge of arrangements.
