A funeral mass for Peter A. "Pete" Owens, 73, was held at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Tuesday, April 13 with Fr. Dan Calibraro as the celebrant. The rosary was recited at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home on Monday. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery with graveside services performed by the Elks Lodge #1797 of Lusk, WY.

Pete passed away April 9 at his home in Casper after a two year battle with cancer. He was born September 5, 1925 to Andrew L. and Marie (Burger) Owens at Lusk, Wyoming. He married Donna Jean Bancroft on June 30, 1947.

He lived in Lusk and worked in the oil field until moving to Casper in 1953. He later became a Journeyman Pipefitter with Local #193 from which he retired in 1989. He was a member of Elks Lodge #1797 of Lusk. He was also a charter member of the Central Wyoming Union Retirees Council.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Edna Blackmore and an infant brother and sister. Survivors include his wife, Donna Jean; one son, Jerry; daughter Judy Sonesen, granddaughter Amanda Sonesen and brother John all of Casper, Wyoming; two sisters Louise Umphenour of Shelton, Wash. and Virginia Fraser of Sundance, Wyo. and numerous other relatives.

Memorials may be given to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 1401 CY Av., Casper, WY. 82601 or to the Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 S. Wilson, Casper, WY 82601.

Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
