Mrs. Gordon Olds Dies at Casper, Wyo.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gordon (Beth Jean) Olds, 48, were held at 2 p.m. April 23 at the First Baptist Church in Douglas with the Rev. Clyde Thompson officiating. Mrs. Olds died April 20 at the Natrona County Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
She was born April 22, 1922, at Harrison to Brownie and Frances (Bourke) Phinney. Mrs. Olds had resided nearly her entire lifetime in the vicinity of Douglas where she attended rural schools and Converse County High School. She and Olds were married Jan. 5, 1943 in Ogden, Utah, and the couple made their home in Douglas since that time.
She was a member of AMORC (Rosicrucian Order) and until recently had been a member of Rebekah Lodge. Both she and her husband were charter members of the Friendly Neighbors Garden Club and Mrs. Olds had served a number of years as a 4-H leader.
Survivors include her husband, her mother, Frances Phinney of Douglas; one daughter Zora; one son George, all of Douglas; one sister Mrs. L. C. (Virginia) Garnick of Juneau, Alaska.
Burial was in the Douglas Cemetery.
