Nell Oldhaver Dies in Casper
Mrs. Nell Oldhaver, 78, former early resident of Harrison, died at her home in Casper, Wyo. after a brief illness. She was a cousin of Harold Wilson.
Her mother was Avis Burke who homesteaded in the Pleasant Ridge area just over the line in Wyoming and later ran a millinery store in Harrison. Mrs. Burke later married Dr. Tanner, and still later following his death married Newman Tipton.
Mrs. Oldhaver was born October 12, 1891, in Pekay, Iowa, and moved to Harrison with her parents when she was 15 years old. She married Dan Davis in Harrison and he preceded her in death.
She lived in Crawford where she was a dressmaker and later moved to Chadron where she was a dressmaker and a beauty shop owner.
In 1942 she moved to Casper and operated a beauty shop in her home. She retired last year from the beauty shop business. She was married to Arnold H. Oldhaver in September of 1944 in Douglas.
Mrs. Oldhaver was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 991 Auxiliary, the Rebekah Lodge of Crawford, the American War Mothers.
Survivors include her husband, a son, William Davis of Lakewood, Calif.; a brother Eugene Burke of Casper; a sister Mrs. Frances Finney, Douglas; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
