James "Jim" Joseph Mudra
James Mudra Dies in Casper Sat.
James Joseph Mudra, 83, Lusk, died at Natrona County Memorial Hospital, May 8. Funeral services were held from the Peet Mortuary in Lusk, Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., with burial in the Lusk Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Bolinger of the First Baptist Church officiated.
Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist, and accompanied Russell Olmstead as he sang "Rock of Ages" and "In The Garden."
Casket bearers were Richard Lenz, Al Taylor, Milton Himes, Lee James, Everett Kilmer and Harry Brown.
Honorary bearers were C. E. Marvin, Joe McConaughey, Walter Zerbst, Lue Osborn, Roy Turnbull, James Potter and Fred Hansen.
He was born the son of Joseph and Rosanna Mudra, December 26, 1887, in Burton, Keyapaha County Neb. He lived in that county until 1910 when he moved to Wyoming and homesteaded 11 miles north of Lusk. He married Mary Evelyen Allen at Harrison, Neb. July 15, 1916. In 1966 he retired from ranching and moved to his present home in Lusk.
His wife died previously.
Survivors include one son, Norris of Casper, one daughter, Hazel Stallings, Anaconda, Mont.; one step-son Everett Allen of Riverton; two brothers John and Martin of Lusk; one sister, Mary Bates of Oregon; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
