Funeral for Mrs. Myrtle Mosier In Lusk Saturday
Mrs. Myrtle Belle Mosier, 82, died at her home in Lance Creek last Wednesday, Sept. 16, following an extended illness. Funeral services were held in Lusk from the Peet Mortuary Saturday afternoon at 2:00. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
The Rev. Richards Korns of Manville Community Alliance Church officiated. Mrs. Jack Hammond, soloist, sang "Love of God" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee" accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Watson on the organ.
Casket bearers were Dale Henton, Herbert Mangis, Walter Kant, Ray Austin, James Groves and Jess York. Honorary bearers were William Schaefer, C. V. Lee, Henry Stiles, Fred Sheaman, William Croft, Lee Moore, Chester Stubson and Joe Traphagan.
She was born November 24, 1887, at Gordon, Neb. to Wilbur and Alice Young. She attended schools and grew to womanhood in the Gordon area. On July 21, 1909, she married Guy A. Mosier at Gordon. They came to Wyoming by covered wagon in 1916 and homesteaded near Lance Creek where she operated a rooming house and housekeeping cabins for many years during the oil field activities.
She was a member of the Lance Creek Community Church, affiliated with Rebekah Lodge No. 22 of which she was an active member for many years. Mrs. Mosier was an ardent fisherwoman and spent many winters in Arizona pursuing this sport. In spite of illness she enjoyed many fishing trips this summer.
Her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother died previously. Survivors include one son Clem of Lance Creek; one daughter, Mrs. Velma Wilson, Fair Oaks, Calif.; one brother Dale Young of Santa Rosa, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
