Joe Morton dies
Paul (Joe) Morton, formerly of Lance Creek, died in Howard, Kan., Jan. 27. He was born on August 13, 1900, at Eureka, Kan., to John and Almira Morton. He started his welding career in the early 1940's in Kansas and Oklahoma. Later he worked in Montana, North Dakota and in northern Wyoming area. He came to Lance Creek in 1950 as a contract welder. He retired in 1960. He was a resident here until last August when he entered a nursing home in Howard. Funeral service was held Friday.
He is survived by one niece, Susan Wyatt of Fort Worth, Tex.; and three nephews, John and Richard Morton of Mountain Home, Ark., and Paul Morton of Florida.
