Hardy W. Morgan Dies Friday

Hardy W. Morgan, 87, a resident of this area since 1927, died Friday in the Casper Hospital. Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Mortuary in Lusk Monday at 2:30 p.m. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

The Rev. Fred Bolinger of the First Baptist Church of Lusk officiated. Mr. A. F. DeCastro furnished organ music and accompanied Mrs. Alex Miller, Mrs. Pete Germann, Johnny Thon and Eldon Schuler as they sang "In The Garden" and "Beyond The Sunset."

Casket bearers were Bud Hoblit, Bud Owens, Archie Lauer, Martin Glandt, Mel Lambert and Clyde Blackmore. Honorary bearers were Roy McLain, Floyd McClain, Frank Taylor, Venus Kilmer, C. E. Marvin, Pete Owens, Roscoe Kilmer and Leonard Thompson.

Mr. Morgan was born September 22, 1881, in Smithland, Iowa to Sarah Elizabeth and Clayborn Morgan. He married the former Minnie McCleery April 11, 1911, in Onowa, Iowa. Following their marriage they moved to eastern South Dakota and lived there until 1927 when they moved to Lusk. They lived on a ranch near Lusk until 1961 when they moved into Lusk. He retired in 1966.

Following the death of his wife, March 4, 1967, he moved to Casper the following December and made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Ernie Mass.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mass of Casper and Mrs. Kenneth Erlewine of Lusk; two sons, Paul Morgan and Voyne Morgan of Lusk; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Out-of-town relatives attending the services were Mrs. Ernie Mass, James Mass, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Mammon, all of Casper, and Mrs. Tony Outhouse of Aurora, Colo.
