Mrs. Moody Dies In Douglas Thurs.
Mrs. Herbert (Anna Marie) Moody, 49, died Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Michael Manor Nursing and Convalescing Home in Douglas. She has been stricken with multiple sclerosis several years ago.
The body lay in state at the Peet Chapel in Lusk Saturday and Sunday.
Funeral services were held from the Houston Funeral Home in Crawford, Neb, Monday at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Frank Bozart of Edgerton, formerly of the Lusk Open Bible Church, officiated at the services. Burial was in the Crawford Cemetery.
Mrs. Keith Williams, organist, accompanied Keith Williams, soloist as he sang "In The Garden" and "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked."
Casket bearers were Nick Kaan, Sr., Bill Magoon, Archie Lauer, Vic Haas, Gene Wasserburger and Charles Vaughan.
She was born in Crawford, Neb., July 13, 1920, to Alton Smith and Hazel DeVoe Smith.
On February 27, 1941, she was married to Herbert Moody. She worked as a secretary at Fort Robinson during World War II. In 1947 they moved to Lusk. She worked at Olinger's, the Lusk State Bank, in the offices of the County Clerk and County Assessor, and was secretary for the Niobrara Fair Board.
Survivors include her widower, Herbert of Lusk, one daughter, Mrs. Brad Williams of Ainsworth, Neb.; her mother, Mrs. Hazel Harness of Lusk; one sister, Mrs. R. A. House of Grand Island, Neb.; four brothers, David Haken, Marsing, Idaho, Thayer Smith, Loomis, Calif., Ronald Smith, Crawford and Clair Smith of Chadron.
