William "Shorty" Millikin
W. Millikin Dies In Cheyenne Fri.
Funeral service for William (Shorty) Milliken, long time Niobrara County rancher was held at 2: p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home in Cheyenne. Mr. Millikin died in a Laramie hospital Friday, Jan. 21.
Cheyenne Lodge No. I. A. F. and A. M. officiated at the service with military honors at the graveside in Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne.
Casket bearers were Joe Derringer, Laramie, Ryner Leonard, Phoenix, Richard Barnette, Bebe Reed, James Smith, Lusk and Robert Darrow, Lakewood, Colo. Mr. Milliken was born in Iowa August 3, 1896, but spent most of his life in Wyoming.
He worked as foreman on the Ed McCarty ranch north of Cheyenne and for Frank Jordan on Iron Mountain before going into ranching for himself in the Rawhide Butte area south of Lusk. He retired from ranching in 1966. Mr. Millikin was a World War I veteran and a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge in Lusk.
