Service held May 23 for Dewey McLain

Funeral service was held for George Dewey McLain May 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Peet Chapel with the Rev. Robert Boutwell officiating. Mrs. Edna DeCastro played the organ as Mark Lohr sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "How Great Thou Art."

Honorary pallbearers were Dave Shepard, Venus Kilmer, S.E. West, Lou Herbert, James Russell and George Bonestell.

Pallbearers were Charles Canfield, Kenneth Canfield, Kenneth Gropp, Richard James, Rick Kilmer and Ab DeCastro. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. McLain was born June 28, 1898 at Royal, Neb., to George and Caroline Louise Seeback McLain. He died May 20, 1975 at the family home south of Lusk.

He attended school in Royal and farmed in that area until 1935. He married Lillith Eva Hamilton in May 1919 at O'Neill, Neb. They lived in Atkinson, Neb. from 1935 to 1940 when they moved to Seattle, Wash. He worked in defense plants there until 1948 when he purchased the ranch south of Lusk.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roy.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, George Donald of Seattle, Wash. and Gordan Glen of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother Floyd of Lusk; two sisters Mrs. Minnie Curtis of Neligh, Neb., and Mrs. Belle Thomas of Worland; and three grandchildren.

McLain Funeral Service Friday

Funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel for Dewey McLain who died Tuesday.
