Charles Barber, Native of Lusk, Dies in Sheridan

Charles H. Barber, 59, a native of Lusk, died at his home south of Sheridan, Wyoming January 14 following a heart attack. Funeral services were conducted in Sheridan January 17. The Rev. Edward G. Robinson, pastor of St. Peter's Church of Sheridan, officiated and interment was made in the Masonic plot of the Sheridan cemetery.

Mr. Barber was born September 17, 1898 in Lusk, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip E. Barber, pioneer residents of eastern Wyoming. Both parents preceded him in death. He was reared and educated in the Lusk schools and lived in Wyoming nearly all his life. He served in the U.S. Army in World War I.

Mr. Barber was married to Florence M. Wallace in 1929 and since that time has lived in Sheridan. At the time of his death he was a real estate salesman for M.W. Holcomb & Son. He previously had operated a Sheridan Motel. He had always been active in civic and fraternal affairs. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Sheridan, Big Horn Mountain Masonic Lodge No. 43, Kalif Shrine Temple, and the Sheridan Elks Lodge.

In Lusk he will be remembered for his participation in all types of athletics.

Besides his wife he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Frank Chambers of Grand Junction, Colo. and two nieces, Lucille Swanke of Lake Jackson, Texas and Joan Nestler of Shiprock, New Mexico.
