Kent McDaniel

Kent McDaniel, 68, died June 20, 2002, in Casper, with his family at his side.

Kent was born Sept. 18, 1933, to Cleo Earnestine Baker and Otto William "Bud" McDaniel in Midwest, Wyo.

The family moved to Lance Creek, where he attended Lusk High School and received an engineering scholarship to the University of Wyoming. He received both athletic and academic honors while at UW.

He married Barbara Windom in 1954, and they later divorced.

In 1970 he married Phyllis Clark Esau.

In 1955, he began his career with Conoco, working in locations from Wyoming to Australia, taking early retirement after 22 years. He was then employed as a drilling superintendent for both Prairie and Roden Drilling companies and as vice president and manager of MGF Drilling Co. From 1983 until retirement he was a consultant in the oil field industry.

Kent will best be remembered by family and friends as a man who gave himself completely to the "broken in spirit."

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Marcie.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis; brother Larry McDaniel, sister Linda McDaniel; sons Mark McDaniel, Mark Esau, and Clay Esau; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Memorials to Highland Park Community Church Missions, Casper Humane Society or an organization of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
