Mollie McCormick, 86, Dies

Mollie McCormick, 86, died in Douglas March 24. She was born June 24, 1891 at Bagley, Iowa. Her early years were spent in Iowa and near Hemingford and Alliance, Nebr. She later moved to Keeline, and from there to the Divide Community. About 35 years ago she moved into Lusk where she made her home until entering the Nursing Home at Douglas.

She married Ed W. Stigile in 1923 and they were parents of six children. He died in 1948. On Jan. 1, 1953, she was married to Jesse McCormick.

She was a member of the Baptist Church, the Rebekah Lodge and the Gray Ladies.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters.

Survivors are her husband, and six children, Mildred Shoopman, Sidney, Neb.; Kenneth Airhood, Lander; Bob Stigile, Star, Idaho; Bill Stigile of Hazelton, Idaho; Helen Blackmore, Dallas, Tex.; and Norma Rae Craig, Tyler, Tex.; and 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held March 28 at the Peet Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Ron Marshall and the Rebekah Lodge in charge of the service. Mrs. Edna DeCastro, organist, accompanied Mark Lohr as he sang "Beautiful Isle" and "Beyond the Sunset." Pallbearers were Ray Taylor, Donald McConaughey, Lloyd Coleman, Clyde Blackmore, Andy Newcomb and Howard Haworth. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
