Dorothy M. Hill

Dorothy M. Hill, a charter member and past president of the BPO Does in Riverton and a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary in the city, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 1994, at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander.
She was 84.

Services for Mrs. Hill are planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Davis Funeral Home in Riverton. The Rev. Michael Phillips of St. James Episcopal Church will officiate, with interment in Mountain View Cemetery. Members of the Riverton Does Drove will conduct a service at the funeral home.

Dorothy Mashek was born May 1, 1910, in Lusk, the daughter of Grace (Rider) and Alexander Mashek. She lived in Dubois, Riverton, and California. Dorothy helped form the Riverton BPO Does Drove and was its president in 1954. She was a department president in the American Legion Auxiliary in Riverton, and participated in the Eagles Auxiliary as well as the national committee for the Legion Auxiliary.

She married John Hill in 1938 in Casper. He died in October 1977. After his death she moved to Casper, and later to Lander.

She is survived by a sister, Irene Hirschman of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews, including Fred Sable of Casper, Jim Sable and his wife Betty of Lander, Bob and Sylvia Sable of Aurora, Colo., and Audrey Howes of Casper.

Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.

Memorials to Dorothy M. Hill may be made to the Westward Heights Care Center Activity Fund.
