Wesley Austin Dies in Lance Creek July 21

Wesley Ray Austin, 62, died suddenly at his home in Lance Creek, July 21. Funeral service was conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:00 from the Peet Mortuary in Lusk. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Pastor Lee Williams of Manville officiated.

Mrs. J. P. Watson, organist, accompanied Mrs. Jack Hammond and Mrs. Merle Oehlert as they sang "He Touched Me" and "Near To The Heart Of God".

Casket bearers were Jack Hammond, Dale Henton, Herbert Mangis, Charles Abbott, all of Lance Creek; Adolph Vuresh, Sundance, Wyo.; and Robert Burgess, McFadden, Wyo.

Honorary bearers were Mike Chard, Fred Sheaman, Harry Manning, Charles Lee, Torrington; Everett Zinn, St. Paris, Ohio; and Fred McNeil, Douglas.

He was born December 28, 1908, at Severance, Colo., to Orville T. and Addie Austin. He spent his childhood on a farm east of Severance and graduated from the Greeley High School.

He married Emmy Lou Kant at Wheatland July 9, 1950. They have operated the K and K Market at Lance Creek since that time. A lover of the outdoors, he has always enjoyed hunting and fishing.

His parents died previously.

Survivors include his widow, Emmy Lou of the family home, and three children by a former marriage, two daughters Marjorie Aab and Gloris Burris, both of Greeley, and one son Wesley Gene Austin of St. Paul, Minn.; one brother Paul S. Austin of CedarIdge, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Tom Morris of Greeley and eight grandchildren.
