John Bare, Well-Known Former Resident of Lusk, Passes Away at California Home

Word was received in Lusk on Tuesday morning of the death of John Bare, well-known former resident of Lusk, at Bell, California, of heart trouble, Monday March 16.

So far no particulars of his death have been received by relatives here, and funeral arrangements have not been announced yet.

John R. Bare was born at Boulder, Colo. on November 27, 1886, being 49 years, 3 months and 19 days of age at the time of death. He was the son of Abraham and Mary Howie Bare. At the age of 8 years he moved with his parents from Colorado to Wyoming, settling on what was afterward known as the 1B ranch, about 12 miles south of Lusk. The greater part of his life was spent on this ranch, where he became a competent handler of stock.

On March 7, 1911 he was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude Schaefer of Highland Park, Chicago. To this union three children were born--Robert, Betty and Jane.

On account of failing health he with his family moved to Florida in 1925. After two years spent in Florida they traveled to eastern Pennsylvania, in search of a climate to benefit Mr. Bare's health.

In the fall of 1930 he with his two daughters moved to California, where he has since resided. Here he enjoyed fairly good health until the last three months, when his condition became steadily worse.

Besides his wife and three children he leaves to mourn four sisters, Mrs. Grace Mashek, Mrs. Mamie Root, and Miss Flora Bare, all of Lusk, and Mrs. Lugena Baughn of Manville and two brothers Frank Rider of Lusk and Charles A. Rider of California.

Last Rites For John Bare Here Friday

Funeral services were held here Friday afternoon for John Bare, old-time resident of Niobrara County, who died in Bell, California.

Services were held from the Baptist Church, Rev. Evans officiating, with the Peet Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Harry Boner, Jess Boner, Wm. Mill, Floyd McLain, Bill Miller and Albion Lind.

A mixed quartet composed of J. M. Hungate, Wm. Sherk, Mrs. H. J. Templeton and Mrs. Ab DeCastro, accompanied by Mrs. Vogel, rendered "Abide With Me," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Nearer, My God to Thee."

The remains were accompanied from California here by Al Rider, brother of the deceased. Interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery, a large crowd attending last rites for deceased.
