Gladys Moyer
Gladys Moyer was born Oct. 13, 1920, the daughter of Ed and Laura Lewis of Van Tassell. She died Jan. 27, 1991 after fighting a valiant battle with multiple sclerosis that was her lot for many years.
She attended rural grade schools south of Van Tassell and high school in Van Tassell and Crawford, Neb.
She and her first husband, Mike McKelvey, lived on several ranches, then in Lusk and Torrington. She liked working with crafts.
After she and Ross Moyer were married, she moved to South Gate, Calif., where he was employed. The rest of her life was spent there. She and Ross were foster parents to a number of children.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Lester and Lawrence Lewis and other relatives.
Survivors include her son Garland McKelvey and wife Francine in the San Francisco area, a brother Archie Lewis of Fort Collins, Colo.; a sister, Ruby Hebner in Las Vegas, Nev.; nieces, nephews and other relatives as well as a host of friends.
