John Edward Maloney
Word has been received that John Edward Maloney of Lusk died Friday, July 5, 1991, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hot Springs, S.D., after a long illness of cancer. He was 64.
He was born Feb. 28, 1927 in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Michael and Margret Maloney.
He was active in the Navy from Nov. 30, 1944, and received an honorable discharge May 7, 1951. He served during World War II in the South Pacific.
He married Barbara Percifield of Protection, Kan., in 1952. They had five children; Deanne Pembrook of Phoenix, Ariz., Sonja Brunner of Livingston, Calif., Annamarie Maloney of New Mexico, Gregg Maloney of Protection, Kan. and Becky Calasada of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Maloney moved to the Lusk area and worked on oil rigs where he met Dorothy Ruth Himes. They had one daughter, Jennifer Himes, of Lusk.
Survivors include his six children, two sisters; Marge Pembrook of Sierra Vista, Ariz. and Gertie Haghart of Kansas; one brother, Tom Maloney of Golden, Colo., and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Dorothy Himes and several brothers and sisters.
