Iva McGinnis, 53-Yr. Resident, Dies in Casper

Mrs. Iva McGinnis, 84, died Friday, Sept. 25, at Paradise Valley Health Care Center, Casper. Funeral services were held from the Peet Mortuary in Lusk Tuesday afternoon at 2:00. The Rev Robert Boutwell of the Congregational Church of Lusk officiated. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mrs. Gerald Bardo, organist, accompanied Ginger Harper and Vern Vondra as they sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden."

Casket bearers were John Goddard, Bob Scott, Chuck Vaughan, Bud Hoblit, Pat Miller and Burr Bryant.

Honorary bearers were Jim Mudra, John Mudra, Earl Peet, Glen Riley, Melvin Miller, C.E. Marvin, Rulo Roberts and Clinton Walts.

She was born in Bull City, Kan., Sept. 22, 1886. She married James G. McGinnis in Pawnee City, Neb., Feb. 1, 1911. They moved to Wyoming in 1917 and homesteaded in the Hat Creek area. They lived in that vicinity and Lusk for 53 years.

She moved to Casper in 1964, following the death of her husband.

Survivors include a son Emery McGinnis of Douglas; three daughters, Mrs. Bernard Condelario, Casper, Mrs. Glen McLean, Evanston, and Mrs. Ernest Dean, Bremerton, Wash.; two brothers, Albert and Lee Penn of Lusk; a sister, Mrs. Velda Miller of Lusk; 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
