Louise (Bensch) McNeil
Services for Louise (Bensch) McNeil, 100, will be held Thursday, April 8, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Douglas, Wyo., with Rev. Merrill Lanker officiating.
McNeil died Monday, April 6, 1993, at the Michael Manor Nursing Home in Douglas.
She was born June 1, 1892, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Ryman) Bensch in Medford, Wisc. She was educated in Medford. In 1913 she moved to Oswego, Mont., on her homestead. On May 16, 1917, she married Fred W. McNeil. They made their home on their homesteads and about 1924 they moved to Midwest, Wyo., and later to Lance Creek before moving to Douglas in 1965.
Louise was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Wyoming for 67 years. She served as Noble Grand while in Midwest and helped institute the Black Gold Rebekah Lodge in Lance Creek. At the time of her death, Louise was an Honorary Member of Mountain Valley Rebekah Lodge #15.
She is survived by a daughter, Vera Cook of Sun City, Ariz., three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred, in 1974, her son, Howard, four sisters and three brothers.
She was a devoted wife, mother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial to the Michael Manor Nursing Home in Douglas would be appreciated by the family.
