Services were Monday, Aug. 3 for Grace Long, 92, at Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo with the Rev. Ole Natwick officiating.
Mrs. Long died July 31, 1987 at the Niobrara County Nursing Home in Lusk, where she had lived since 1982.
She was born July 2, 1895 in Sedan, KS, the daughter of Alfred and Charlotte Peterson. As a child, she moved to Oklahoma and later to Trinidad, Colo.
In October 1915, she married Ernest B. Long and they made their home in Sedan. Later, they moved to Colorado where her husband was employed with Conoco in Fort Collins and Wellington. He was transferred to Lance Creek and then Linch, and retired in 1960.
They moved to Buffalo, where he died in 1968 and Mrs. Long continued to live in Buffalo until moving to the nursing home. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodge.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, her parents and three brothers.
She is survived by two sons, Dean Long of Buffalo and Frank Long of Douglas; one daughter, Fern Lewis of Lusk, seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials to the Niobrara County Nursing Home in care of Adams Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements, would be appreciated.
