Services for Roger L. Lindley, 68, were held Wednesday, December 16, 1987 at the McColley Funeral Home Chapel in Newcastle, Larry Price officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Mr. Lindley died unexpectedly December 12, 1987 at Weston County Memorial Hospital in Newcastle following a brief illness.
He was born December 5, 1919 in Shawnee, WY to Clifford and Edith Lindley. When he was 5 years old the family moved to Manville where he received his education.
In April 1946, he married Doris Wilson who preceded him in death in 1957. On March 28, 1959 he married Vivian Clark.
Mr. Lindley had lived in Lusk, Sheridan, and Shelton, WA. before moving to Newcastle in 1965. He was employed by the Tesoro Oil Co. and in later years was associated with Castle Motors and Roger Anderson Ford before retiring in 1984.
During World War II, he served with the US Army in Europe. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #2516 of Newcastle.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Lea Duclo of Fraser, Colo., Connie Rainbolt and Susan Houston, both of Newcastle; three sisters, Lois Knee of Hazelton, Ida., Doris Alexander of Lusk and Marjorie Lee of Wheatland; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be left at the McColley Funeral Home.
