Last Rites Held For Arthur Lewis
Arthur Lewis, 82, former resident of Sioux County, died at a Scottsbluff hospital last Wednesday. Funeral services were held at the Harrison Methodist Church Sunday afternoon with Rev. James Keith officiating and burial was in the Harrison Cemetery.
He was born May 23, 1884 in Butte County, S.Dak. where he received his early education. He married Martha Lueders February 14, 1911 in Lucas, S, Dak. and in 1912 they moved to Sioux County where he farmed and ranched until 1951. That year they moved to Hot Springs, S. Dak. and in 1962 to Edgemont where they have since resided.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are three sons Russell of Morrell, Lyle of Harrison, and Douglas of Henry; five daughters, Mrs. Pearl Campbell of Pocatello, Ida., Mrs. Argyle Loyd of Laramie, Wyo. of Laramie, Wyo., Mrs. Donna Luttel of Richcrest, Calif., Mrs. Vivian Maul of Denver, and Mrs. Valerie Pullen of Harrison. There are 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Three sisters, five brothers and two grandsons died previously.
