Graveside services for LeRoy E. Leonard, 86, were held March 3, 2003, at the Lusk Cemetery, with Pastor Charles Small of Grace Baptist Church of Gillette officiating.
LeRoy Leonard died Feb. 27, 2003 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, following an extended illness.
LeRoy Edward Leonard was born to Clyde and Clara (Craft) Leonard on Nov. 7, 1916 in Ranch Creek, Wyoming. He grew up on his father's ranch near Ridge, Mont.
He married Jean Roberts on Dec. 28, 1942. She died in January 1975.
LeRoy remarried in April 1976, to Weenona Boyce. They resided in Lusk and Buffalo, then moved to Riverton, where Weenona died in October 2001.
At that time LeRoy moved to Gillette to be near his family. He was cared for by his granddaughter Debbie and great-granddaughter Michelle Williams.
LeRoy enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, square dancing and loved playing Black Jack.
He is survived by a son, Pete Leonard of Buffalo; a daughter Nancy Iddings of Interior, S. D.; step-children Fred and Bob Boyce, Joyce Mitchell and Ruthie Clark; grandchildren Rick Leonard, of Gillette, Bobbie Frazier of Birney, Calif., Debra Curly of Gillette, L. D. Williams, of Nashville, Tenn., Terri Leis of Colorado, Abby Bathin of Nevada , Nonie Johnson of Worland, Fred Boyce, Alvin Mitchell and Kevin Mitchell all of Pinedale, James and Willard Clark of Big Piney, Laura Archibald of Lander, Lisa Terrell and Tony Boyce of North Carolina; and numerous great-grandchildren.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his wife Weenona; brother Harold, sisters Esther and Elsie; granddaughters, Teresa Boyce and Terri Williams; grandson David Williams; and great-grandson Justin Williams.
